I move past the first 4 opponents by the time I exit Turn 4, but the Opel has already started to break away from the pack. I'm down 2.345" at T2, but I gradually catch up to it while coming out of the hairpin at Turn 11. I'm down 1.447" at the end of Lap 1 with 5 bars of Nitrous left, and it's not until Turn 7a that I manage to pull up to its bumper.
We cross T2 and I'm down 0.250". I aim to take an inside angle as we go through Turn 8, but the Opel stays tight to the right and I get pushed to the outside. This sends me into the cones on the left, and upsets my rhythm through the rest of the section. I bash into the rear of the Opel as we enter the final hairpin, and I send it into the barrier. I pull ahead of it as we exit, and my bottle is nearly empty. I manage to block the Opel as it makes its final lunge, and I cross the line with a 0.111" lead.
I ended the race with 15.2 miles on the odometer.
