I dropped the ballast to 0 for the practice session, and qualified P1 with a 5'09.027, 8.261" quicker than P2, using the entire bottle and cutting through the Dunlop and Ford chicanes.
Everything's fine after cutting through Dunlop, and I maintain around a 7 second gap for most of the race. But on my approach into Indy, my left side edges the sand and I go spinning into the wall! After recovering, I find myself in P3, down just over 2 seconds at T4 and T5. The 106, who's leading at that point, goes into the junk out of the Porsche curves, and I manage to pass it for P1 heading into the final stretch.
I choose not to take any chances, and cut the Ford chicanes to ensure the victory, nearly 15 seconds slower than my Q-time, with 1 bar of Nitrous left.
I ended the practice session with 29 miles, and ended the race with 39 miles on the odometer.
