Please refer to these track maps when looking up Turn numbers/names ** Special thanks to AMG @ GTPlanet.net for the hard work put in to generate them!!! **

This was almost a "throw-away" run. I found myself in P2, part of a lead pack 3-deep, just before heading onto the Central Park straight on the Final Lap...

You can see how "disadvantaged" the DB7 is as the race begins, as the others start to break away as I cross the Start Line. Thanks to some "imaginative driving", I manage to work my way up the ranks.

The wallride for the first turn is quite sharp, and might be more of a crash-turn. Regardless of any semantic differences, I catch up to the pack on the exit and head into the twisty section in P5. With a better entry into Turn 2, I could probably move into P3, as many opponents love smacking the outside wall.

I move into P2 as we head into Turn 5, and from there I track down the GT. My turn-in for Turn 8 sucks, and instead of crash-turning only the outside wall, I bash into the inside wall first. I make it onto the final straight in P2, but with a bad speed as the GT starts to break away, putting me down a little over 2 seconds to start Lap 2 with 5 bars of Nitrous used!

Another crash-turn at Turn 1, and I manage to catch the GT's draft heading down the straight. I'm on its tail as we head into the next few turns, but I never get an opportunity to take away its inside until we reach Turn 8. I squeeze by for the lead, and heading onto the final straight, I'm thinking "I've got it now..."

I'm up 0.378" as we start Lap 3, and I get caught looking at the split time as the GT passes me on the left! Another crash-turn at Turn 1 for the lead, but I lose it again as I brake into Turn 2. Fortunately, the GT smacks into the outside wall, and I manage to hold the lead through the twistys.

But exiting onto the final straight, I rub the inside corner of the final right turn, and the GT catches up. I almost manage to send it into the pit lane entry, but it squeezes by to lead at the start of Lap 4 by 0.330"!! I scrub by after wallriding Turn 1, but now the ZZII is starting to make it's way into the lead pack.

Things are relatively calm for Lap 5, but as we approach T1 of the Final Lap, the ZZII zooms by on my left. This makes me miss my braking point for Turn 2, and we both go into the outside wall. I finally manage to take the inside away as we head onto the Central Park straight, and I scrub it into the right side wall as I pass it. My braking into the Turn 9 complex is poor, and I bash into the left side wall, then the right side wall. I'm left with an angle that cuts in front of the ZZII, and fortunately it backs off, giving the GT P2.

I use my final bar of Nitrous as we head onto the final straight, doing my best to make sure I stay in front of the GT... which is only 0.131" behind when we finish!

I ended the race with 75.8 miles on the odometer.
