Please refer to these track maps when looking up Turn numbers/names ** Special thanks to AMG @ GTPlanet.net for the hard work put in to generate them!!! **

This was a really tough, close race. I suppose it might've been easier if I had blocked better along 7th Ave, but as it was, I had to crash-turn 42nd St on 5 of the 6 laps to help ensure the victory.

The other SKYLINEs don't turn so well through the corners. They more than make up for it with their speed, but they typically brake very early into the turns, and this is the prime opportunity I need to bash my way into the lead.

I manage to work my way up to P2 by the time I cross T2 of Lap 1, down just under 2 seconds to the '91. It's not until we hit 7th Ave on Lap 2 that I catch up, and I dive on the inside of it to take the lead... briefly.

We both go into the right side wall, and my acceleration out of the crash is much worse than the 91's. It retakes the lead, and I'm down 0.177" at T2, despite my efforts to block it. I finally get back in front as we head into Turn G of Lap 3, and when we make it back onto 7th Ave, the craziness begins...

I zig, it zags. I zag, it zigs. We go from wall to wall, trying our best to keep the other from making any gains, and this gives the others time to catch up.

I manage to hold it off as we brake for the 42nd St hairpin, but I'm left with 0 bars of Nitrous. From here, it's all about blocking... or at least trying to.

The '83 squeezes by on my left just after starting Lap 4, and as we brake for Turn A, my disposition is off. I bump the right-side railing and the '84 starts to make its move on the inside. I manage to hold it off by grinding it into the right wall along Central Park, leading at T1 by 0.170".

To start the Final Lap, I block the '91, then the MNP. But the '84 comes up fast on the left again, and it's leading as we head into Turn A. Somehow, I manage to smoothly take away the inside of the entry, and this sends it into the right side Armco. The cushion builds again, but the opponents still maintain a workable deficit for each of the next few checkpoints.

The '84 nearly prevents me from making the final turn, being on my right (the inside). Fortunately, I manage my way past it, and head for the line with a pack of 3 behind me. The '91 comes up fast to my right... I block it... And as it starts to lurch forward again to make it's move, the '84 comes up to my left at a much quicker speed. I choose to block the '84, and as I do this the '91 is beyond my rear bumper. Fortunately, we're at the line and I manage a victory by a scant 0.072"!!!

P1-P4 separated by less than half a second! Quite an exciting race, despite its "illegitimacy"!!

I ended the race with 1223.3 miles on the odometer.
