Please refer to these track maps when looking up Turn numbers/names ** Special thanks to AMG @ GTPlanet.net for the hard work put in to generate them!!! **
It was important to get in the lead as early as I could. Not doing so usually allows the quicker cars to run away with the lead, as the BLRA simply can't keep up with the top speed of the others.
I decided to cut the first corner through the grass, and I could've done better at it. In any case, I manage to move into 3rd after Turn 1, and find myself down 1.686" at T1. I dive on the inside to take P2 from the M-spec, and I'm within a second of the lead at T3, then down 1.113" at the end of Lap 1.
I'm being hounded by the M-spec as I cross the line, but it backs off well before we approach the first turn. The leader (the '97) starts braking, and I'm unsure as to whether I'll be able to get there in time to punt it into the junk. Because of this, I jink to the right to prepare to take the inside away from it, but I realize I still have a chance to smash it into the dirt.
I strike it, but the collision isn't flush, and we both slide sideways into the turn. I kick it down to 1st gear and try to keep from spinning as the others start to make their way through. I manage my way back on track in P1, and have to block to keep the lead.
At T2 of Lap 2, I'm in the lead by less than a second. But through the looping right turn, I fail to block the V-spec and the M-spec, and they both start breaking away as we finish Lap 2.
I catch up to both of them as they brake for the first corner, and I bash into the back of the V-spec to send it into the junk. I'm down less than half of a second at T1, and manage to retake the lead before T2. Unfortunately, the M-spec passes again through the final right, and I'm down 0.362" to the M-spec to start the Final Lap.
I re-introduce the M-spec to the kitty litter one more time, and now it's me and the '97 to battle out the last right handers. I manage to block it well enough, and by the time we hit the straight, I've got a bit of a cushion. I use the last bar of Nitrous to keep the distance safe, and finish for the win with P1-P5 less than 3 seconds apart.
I ended the race with 1178.4 miles on the odometer.
