Please refer to these track maps when looking up Turn numbers/names ** Special thanks to AMG @ GTPlanet.net for the hard work put in to generate them!!! **

For my first hot lap, I brake way too late and go into the gravel of Turn 1. I restarted another session, and qualified P1 with a 1'39.308, more than 2 seconds behind the CTR2. I didn't use any Nitrous for the hot lap, but I figured that the chicane-cutting would take care of any deficit...

For the launch, I'm passed by the HPA before the 4 second mark. No worries, knowing how much time is gained by cutting the chicane. I bash into the back of the HPA for Turn 1, but it's not hard enough to send it into the junk. The RGT cuts to the inside as this happens, and takes 3rd for a moment, as I go wide on the exit into the grass. I try to cut the grass for the coming left hander, but the RGT smacks me from behind and messes up my angle.

This sends me into the right wall, and I make my way back to the track as the CTR2 speeds by. I'm more than 2.5 seconds behind as I cross T2, and after cutting the chicane I'm ahead by more than 3 seconds. Unfortunately, I'm way too hot to begin the final right hand turn, and I spend a good while in the grass before I finally make my way back. The CTR2 comes up on me along the front straight, and I jink to the right to try to block it. I don't do so hard enough, and it slips by for the lead just before finishing Lap 1, ahead by 0.218".

I prepare to punt it into the junk on Turn 1, but I start to get the feeling that it'll begin its turn, so I stab the brakes to make sure I don't go off. Fortunately, I'm close enough to nudge it a little wide, and I get by on the inside for the lead. I try to cut the left hander again, but now the CTR2 is on the inside, and I'm forced to take the turn "normally". Finally, after cutting the chicane, I'm in the lead for good.

As with most intentionally illegitimate runs, I like to cross the finish line backwards. When the post-race autodrive takes over, it cuts into the path of the CTR2 just after it finishes its run, and slams into the back of me (about 11'20.000, video time).

I ended the practice session with 101 miles, and ended the race with just under 110 miles on the odometer.

Here's a video of my run:
