Day 145 (24 AUG, YEAR 1): Professional Events / World Compact Championship / Race 1

So, on to the first event, The World Compact Car Race. I chose to race in this event since it's a Professional Hall Championship, and it's a great opportunity to put some miles on the Copen before participating in its OMR. The Practice sessions offer a great chance to do this, as I can run an infinite number of practice miles, without registering in the Diary. In fact, I can enter any championship event, run a practice session, then exit without this "one day" penalty. It's a great way to wear-down the vehicle, but I can't imagine running 9000 miles or more, all in A-spec mode, just to squeeze out a couple more A-spec points... yet.

I'm noticing weird behavior with the A-spec mileage stat in the Game Status screen, when this method of "non-diary" miles is run. I'll look into it more, and report what I find.

Anyhow, before I entered this event, I went to the tune shop and bought Nitrous ($5000). While many might scoff at the use of the Bottle, it's a big key in getting the most A-spec points from races, as it doesn't lower the number of points offered.

These races can be won somewhat easily. It's important for me to start in the lead, so that I can block as the faster cars come down the long straights. If qualifying in first is difficult, I'll switch to softer tires for the Practice session, then switch back to whatever I've chosen to run for the race. All Settings are set to default (stock) unless noted.

Please refer to these track maps when looking up Turn numbers/names ** Special thanks to AMG @ GTPlanet.net for the hard work put in to generate them!!! **

This race wasn't too bad. The Tigra would catch up to me along the front and back straights as well as Turn 5, but I'd always pull away entering the twisty sections. I lose the lead briefly while entering Turn 5 on lap 1, but I get it back before the exit. From there, I'm in front to the finish...

I ended the practice session with 9 miles, and ended the race with 16 miles on the odometer.
