Please keep in mind that these are not necessarily my best times (CLICK HERE for my best times/replays).
For some reason, this test took an extraordinary amount of time for Gold. I think a lot had to do with the fact that I didn't watch the demo, and I took the first part of this test too aggressively. With TCS off, maintaining good speeds through turns is important. This car will lose speed on the exit if the steering is too hard, and/or if the exit angle is bad.
For the first left hander, I try to stay to the left on the exit. When the first right-left chicane shows up, I aim for a line that takes me straight over both inside curbs. While crossing the second, I aim for a line that keeps me tight to the left.
I flutter the gas throughout the double-chicane section, trying to maintain the low 70s/high 60s. When I pass over the left side curbing for the entry to the 2nd chicane, I get back on the gas and keep steering to the left. As the car pushes to the right, I finally swing the steering to the right as I approach the inside (right side) curb.
After rolling over it, I brake slightly from 72 to 61, then coast into the right hander's entry. My apex is way too early for this turn, and while I get back on the gas early, the back end swings around too much on the exit and slows the car down. I should be in the low to mid 70s when coming off of the left side curb...
Heading into the final sharp right, I begin braking when I pass the pit lane exit/entry. I brake from 88 to 40, then coast into the turn. I completely miss the inside curb, but manage to bring the car around without using too much of the outside curb. From there, it's flat-out to the line.
I cross at 0'30.647, going 70 mph, in between 2nd and 3rd gears (mid-shift).
