Another track that's working its way up my Favorites ladder... This test will start the car headed toward the inside curb off-the-bat. I always start this test with a quick tap of the D-pad to the left, to make sure I don't lose much time getting to the braking and turn-in point.
As the left side curbing starts to veer to the left, I begin braking and turn-in for the first right hander. It's important to keep a tight line for this turn, as going wide will not only make the car travel further, it will slow the car down as the TCS struggles to maintain grip. I brake from 85 to 65, then lightly flutter the throttle to help aim the car toward the inside curb.
As I hit it, I go full throttle again, but not for long. I ease off and back on the gas when I feel the tires get their grip. I maintain the high 50s, and try to aim for a straight line from the second right's inside curb to the inside curb of the coming left.
I try to steer smoothly to keep the TCS from flashing on, and keep it flat-out for the next turn. As I approach the right-big left, I set up on the left side near the curbing.
As the curbing falls away to the left, I swing the steering to the right. I keep it flat-out until I'm midway across the track, where I lift briefly, then get back on it when I roll over the right side curb.
As I come off of the right side curb, I'm still steering slightly to the right. I finally swing the wheel to the left for the final turn, dabbing the brakes at the same time to go from 97 to 89. I coast down to the low to mid 80s, then get back to full throttle for the final stretch.
This car will slow down considerably if it goes off track. I avoid the hitting the curb on the right side too hard, and steadily make my way around. I cross the line at 0'29.603, going 113 mph in 5th gear.
