This test runs through the Lauda-Linkskinck and Bergwerk sections of The Ring. Not so coincidentally, many of the License Tests that take place on this track will use German automobiles.
The Test Car is one that I'll be using to complete the game. It can be used to win all of the Mercedes-Benz OMRs, as well as a couple of European Hall races. It's also eligible for the Spider & Roadster races, but doing so won't result in many A-spec points.
The first left hander was taken flat out, and it was important to take a line that kept me to the left, to set up the entry into Bergwerk. Turn-in started just before the beginning of the right-side railing starts to go off screen.
After I pass the green arrow sign (along the right), I begin braking from 118 to 58, and I steer gradually toward the inside curb. I ease back on the gas near 56 mph in 2nd gear, and try to take a smooth line along the outside curb. To note, I still haven't been able to get the braking point and turn-in correct for Bergwerk, for any car. The exit for this turn is an important factor in getting a good time at The Ring.
It's important to keep at least 2 wheels on track. Getting that 3rd wheel on the outside curbing here makes the car behave as though it's EXTREMELY off-camber, and hitting the wall becomes inevitable. I manage to come off clean, and head for the line. I come across at 0'25.127, going 92 mph in 3rd.
