For the next 5 weeks or so, I'll be working on the IB and IA Licenses. After that, I'll be able to earn some $ via the Driving Missions, which will be important when Week 13 arrives. To reiterate, I'd like to do as much as I can before I have to get into a car and race. This will allow me to keep a gamesave backup that hasn't committed to the use of a particular vehicle.
So until Day 78, I'll be working on the Licenses...

This test tries to teach "Trailbraking", or braking while turning. This game has been criticized for how the physics engine handles this aspect of driving, but I'm not one of those critics. In any case, this test can be passed without much attention paid to this. I seem to attack the corner in the same manner no matter what I drive.
After the rolling start, the car will be in the high end of 3rd gear. I found that shifting into 4th just after the start prevents speed loss when hitting the limiter. When the tall wall to the left starts to go out of view, I start turning in.
I begin braking when the yellow banner on the low left wall goes completely off screen. I slow from 91 to 40, then coast down to 33 before easing back on the gas. This allows me to hit a later apex, and come out of the corner with a good angle.
I finish the turn along the left side curbing, and shift into 3rd for the final stretch. I cross the line at 0'14.362, going 63 mph in 3rd gear.
