There are 8 seconds on the clock when this Mission begins, and the leader is still on the front straight, making its entry into the first hairpin (Spring Street). Coming up the hill on James Street, I bump the Cuda and get a penalty. Fortunately, this is a spot where I'd be slowing down for the right hander anyway, so not much time is lost. I pass it on the inside and head down 5th Ave.
L1 T1: + 0'6.841
I pass the Tempest as we head down the hill on 4th Ave, and I pass the Cougar on the inside to the first part of Turn 13. There's significant contact, but not enough for a penalty.
L1 T2: + 0'05.757
Exiting the chicane, I pass the Super Bee and take 2nd just before finishing Lap 1.
L1 F: + 0'04.797
This car isn't as fast as the Special down the straights, but it's much better through the turns. I spend a full lap hounding the Special before I finally get on its tail.

I finally take the lead by passing on the inside of Turn 8. I try to "Squeeze Play" the Special into the left side wall, but it didn't work out that well. From there, it's a matter of not picking up any penalties.

I cross the line at 6'00.944, going 104 mph in 4th gear.
